No Registration Page

  • I have seen this topic numerous times.
    I have tried both the network installation and a basic installation
    I am using WP 3.4.1. and BuddyPress Version 1.5.6

    Currently WP is installed without the network feature enabled.
    Pages are associated with components in Buddypress but only members, activity, groups and activate are working

    The forum can be accessed but not through a page.
    I used the widget and made a manual link in the custom menu. .

    Registration takes me nowhere. It is enabled in the WP site settings.

    Also I guess I don’t understand the premise of BuddyPress – it seems that you MUST have it on a network installation for users to post their own content. I installed it so our family can share recipes. but I keep seeing messages about blogs only being possible when the network is activated.

    Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Please advise me of some steps to take to make registration possible. Thank you.

  • Hi, this is partially resolved. I repeatedly deactivated and activated the plugin and finally a registration page showed up. But still no forum page.

    I can also now see a place to post as a member -YAY!

    I am now trying to figure out what favorites are. I have an admin account and a test account and I can’t see anywhere to click “favorite” I am toooo stupid for buddy press. LOL

    @maggieymae forums page at https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/

    Favorites are user picks for posts, forum topics ,et al which show up in Activity Streams and listed in your profile’s “My Favorites” tab

    Thank you very much mercime… I found some code to insert to put a favorite button on a post… that’s where I was looking for it to be. I’m happy with the results and I hope that buddypress will include it in their next release so I don’t need the hack any longer.
