The issue is that in order to display the username in the activity post the user would have to be registered.

Is it possible to show the name the user filled in before commenting?
Not without a bit of coding, the issue is that the BP Activity stream wants to see the user id to display, so that route is not an option, the only way I can see that you can do it would be to add the username into the description of the activity, I think getting there would take quite a bit of effort.
Hmmm too difficult for me 🙂 If anyone could help me with that, would be great!
Also: do you think displaying something like ‘unregistered user’ before every non-registered entry in the stream would be easier?
I’m not entirely sure why, but it seems BuddyPress is not using the activity message created by the plugin and is adding it’s own, for this reason I’ve found it impossible to modify the plugin in order to manipulate that message.
