I think the admin bar notifications is a freaking good idea but the whole thing lacks logic. If a user mentions another user it should spit out “xxx mentioned you in your post blablabla” instead of “1 user mentioned you”. Add support to blog comments and make it easy for developers to add notifications for their own plugins. I think that on-screen notifications is a important factor for a modern network.
