It seems like it might help my hunt to solving this problem that I posted in the bbpress forum.

How to edit widget without changing core files?

The first link said there was a recent topics widget in the buddypress forums plugin, which I don’t thing exists anymore and the one guy was telling him what seemed to be how to make a custom widget. Can some one help me with this. I really don’t want to edit core files like I had said in the 2nd link to accomplish changing the avatar size.

Note: I will pay in hugs and insane amount of respect if helped 🙂

@hitkid the first post you linked is way too old – 3 years ago, we were using the BuddyPress internal forums. BP 1.7 onwards, bbPress plugin is the way to go and if you activate the bbPress plugin, you should find the following bbPress widgets https://codex.bbpress.org/widgets/ under Appearance > Widgets
