Only showing administrator-created groups

I am very new to BuddyPress, so I apologize if this is a naïve question…

I am having a hard time figuring out how I can show groups that are created by me without allowing the “User Groups” option. If I uncheck that box in Settings->->BuddyPress, then all the groups I have created disappear and are not visible. Without having “User Groups” selected, I can’t figure out how to create a group.

Is there a way for the administrator to create groups and have them show on the site without letting the public create their own groups?

    Thanks,
    Amy

    Hello 🙂
If you uncheck the User Groups in Buddypress settings (first tab) you disable all the Group system that is why all your groups disappeared.

I guess you are talking about the checking box on the FIRST tab of the buddypress settings, did you see the other one on the THIRD tab (called settings, just after the “Pages” tab) ? (at the top of the page)
You have a box to check to allow/disallow users to create groups.
Hope you are talking about that 😉

    Doremdou,

Thank you! I didn’t really notice those tabs. I knew it would probably be a simple solution, but like I said, I am so new to this that I am not surprised I missed that. I thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
