Only users defined as super admin for the network on a multisite can create groups if allow all user

I have more than one admin for my buddypress group forums, and we restrict the ability to create groups only to administrators. Though I have found that users that I have set to the role of “Administrator” cannot create groups unless I set them to Super Admin for the entire network. Is this really the only way administrators can create groups in buddypress?

Does anyone have any insight into this? I have the same question…

    I’m having the same problem.

@samuelrh it would help if you provided more information about your own installation. Did you enable group creation in Settings > BuddyPress > Settings so that anyone can create a group?

@mercime Actually, my problem differs to the OP’s: when logged in as an Administrator, in wp-admin I cannot edit groups or activity updates.

The only way I can do that is to log in as a super-admin – very impractical, since I don’t want to give the super-admin role to community moderators.

As mentioned above, it would help if you provided more information about your installation. As it is, the “Administrator” you’re referring to could either be: Administrator of one the WP Multisite sites or could be the Group Administrator. So please do clarify what you mean plus include WP/BP versions, WP configuration, theme used, plugins installed etc.
