Page not found on first install

    Hi,

I’m trying to get BuddyPress running on http://www.godlysocials.com, but get page not found for everything to do with BP.

For some reason the homepage doesn’t show the BP toolbar, but http://www.godlysocials.com/index.php/forum/ does. I can figure out later why that is.
On that forum page, if I click on the Sign Up toolbar option, it takes me to
http://www.godlysocials.com/register with a “The page cannot be found”.
The login menu option works though and logs me in using Simple Facebook Connect.

Once logged in, if I go to the BP Profile menu option or any other option, it tries to take me to something like this:
http://www.godlysocials.com/members/servantheart/profile/ with a “The page cannot be found”.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

My user was created before I installed BP.
    The theme is http://www.studiopress.com/themes/socialeyes
and I’m not using the BuddyPress Template pack. If I activate it, I get “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_querystring() (previously declared in C:Domainsgodlysocials.comwwwrootwp-contentpluginsgenesis-connectlibajax.php:17) in C:Domainsgodlysocials.comwwwrootwp-contentpluginsbuddypressbp-themesbp-default_incajax.php on line 81”

    Much appreciated,

    Dirk

  • Ah. Looks like your permalinks use index.php as a prefix. I don’t think BuddyPress works well with those. I don’t know if anyone has a workaround for this particular issue until we fix it in BuddyPress.

    Thanks for the response Paul.

But how do I fix it? It’s a new, unused site so I can change whatever, just need to know what to change.
I’ve tried all of the permalink options including a custom one without the /index.php at the start, but I get the same problem.
