Pages now missing after BuddyPress & bbPress install

I am running WordPress 3.2.1 and installed BuddyPress, activated it, ran the activation wizard accepting all the defaults and changed the theme to the default BuddyPress theme. All of my pages are no longer accessible or found (menu links return 404 not found error).

I did install and activate bbPress as well to cater for site wide forums. I de-activated this but it did not help fix the issue.

I have since de-acitvated BuddyPress but the issue remains.

I have created new pages since deactivating BuddyPress but this has not fixed the issue either.

    Lost patience.

I installed BuddyPress 1.5.1. If I could login to my site admin I’d tell you which version of bbPress was installed. However, as they seem to have screwed up my site I can’t.

Thanks for the links @mercime. I have question for the Buddypress team – Why force people to do things that they are not qualified for? It would be better if BuddyPress were able to cope with webhost scripts instead of forcing a manual install of WordPress.

The reason we use WordPress is because we do not want or are not capable of all that techy stuff.

Whilst I.m on the subject, if it needs special attention to install then there should be a clear barrier to installing it directly from the plugin page.
