PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /directory path to index.php

Running latest 2.7.1 buddyrpess rc2, and bpdev latest.

For some reason I now get a blank screen and checking the error logs returns error above. What I don’t understand is nothing changed from this morning to tonight yet everything was fine earlier.

I can get to the admin just fine, just can’t reach any website pages.

    ideas anyone?

    thanks

  • Yes, that’s a basic syntax error. £10 you’ve been editing a file.

Could also be PHP version or some kind of out of memory error or time out.

You’re going to want to use php 5 too, so maybe your host switched something?

Not sure what the problem was, but Nicola managed to get it fixed for me. He’s my buddypress hero for sure.

I know that the theme didn’t change, and I’m sure php didn’t change as it’s my own dedicated server.

When he gets back online sometime I’ll find out what the error was just in case it happens to others so they can find the fix here.
