Please create Buddypress profile info syncing with WordPress Profile info

    Over that last while I’ve REALLY been struggling with the disparity between the WP profile info and BP profile info.

    PLease, I beg of you, add some functionality to allow two way synchronization with WP profile info and BP profile info.

    It’s a limited data set.

    It’s incredibly confusing for everyone that the Profile info does not do a two way sync between these two areas.

    I have yet to find any tool/plugin that allows two way sync.

    But really, this should be built into BP.

    I can only assume there is some technical problem that prevents this.

    I can see that if you have Buddypress sub sites and they are acting as their own site, with separate information from the other subsites, then how to make that work is an issue.

    But yeah. Even if that’s an edge case, it would be SO HELPFUL to be able to have reliable sync.

    @normancates you can check for https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp2wp-full-sync/ plugin, it will allow mapping your xprofile fields with WordPress User Fields.

    yeah, that plugin is useful, but it’s only one way. It only goes from BP to WP not WP to BP.

    It also has limited WP profile fields available. Although that’s easy enough to fix by adding items to the array in the plugin…

    The core problem is that once you have BP, there’s two different places to change the basic profile data. Having BP be able to take over the appropriate WP profile areas would make things so much easier….
