Please HELP :) BP Search Results do not include ’Updates’ from the Activity Stream

Hi – Sorry if this question has been answered before – please point me in the right direction if it has…
(WordPress 3.4.1 / BuddyPress 1.5.7)ISSUE: Users are successfully posting ‘updates’ to the BuddyPress Activity Stream – but, if you Search for words contained in the Update, the Search Results do NOT include these updates.
Could you let me know how I can fix this? Thanks!

@mercime – Thankyou! Good to know that my scenario is not an error, just not current functionality.
My problem now is that I don’t know how to code
I rely on adding plugins… If I understand correctly, the tutorial is how to create a custom plugin, which may be beyond me.I know I just have to copy and paste the code into a text file, name it correctly, and copy the file(s) to the correct directory – but I don’t know what to call it, or where to file it – I’ll ask on the tutorial – unless you can tell me
