I have an existing Buddypress install. I followed all directions for installing the group forums… However I get the following errors when I try to post a NEW TOPIC into the group of my choice…

AT GROUP LEVEL:
– When I click on NEW TOPIC, then try to add a new topic
—- I get the following error: This group does not have a forum setup yet.

AT FORUM LEVEL:
– When I click on NEW TOPIC, then try to add a new topic

---

I get the following error: Please pick the group forum where you would like to post this topic.

Please help… Been up for 3 days/night straight trying to fix this.

@Al B Here is what I feel you need to do:

1. Click on the Group.
2. Click on “Admin” tab in the group.
3. This should take you to your groups settings. You should see a sub menu showing “Details”, :Settings”, “Avatar:…etc
4. Click on settings and make sure “Enable Discussion Forum” is checked.
5. Save
6. Now if you click on the forum tab you should see something.

Thanks, but no go… That was one of the first options that I tired. If you can think of anything else please let me know.

– check the bb-config.php at root of WP install (where you’ll find wp-config.php) and double-check that the DB information in bb-config.php is the correct one – the same as in your wp-config.php

– check if 7 bbpress tables have been generated in your database

@mercime – Sorry for the delay… Just got access to the database… The tables you pointed out are not included… What should my next step be.

You need to double-check bb-config.php as mentioned above
– see if DB info in bb-config.php needs to be corrected.
– see if bb-config.php is corrupt. Complete bb-config.php file has about 70+ lines. If not generated properly, then it has been corrupted and should be deleted. Then go back to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Forums > Install Group Forums.
