“Please provide a valid activation key” users registration issue

Problem is when people sign up i get this message…
Activate your AccountPlease provide a valid activation key.
Activation Key:Even when you enter the activation key from the activation email it does not do anything and the user account is active and the can carry on and use all buddypress features as normal
How do i Remove this page?
Ammend the text
or fix this error pleaseUsing WP 3.2.2 and 1.5.5
