Possible to automatically populate groups by matching criteria?

Is it possible to create a group and populate it automatically with members who match certain custom criteria in their profile? For example. group “Russian Connection” would be automatically be populated by anyone who filled out the “ethnicity” field in their profile as Russian.
I’m hoping to give moderators the ability to create a group, and upon creation, allow them to use the metadata of each user to filter them into the group, so if they were looking to create a Red Hair club, they would be able to fill in “red” under hair colour, and then the group would only be exclusive to redheads.
