Possible to show temp page for index while setting up site?

  • Inactive

Right now I’m working on a test install in a sub directory, but once I’m done developing Im going to have to install MU and BP in the root directory then set it all up again and copy everything over.

I’m hoping is it possible through a plug-in or some code to have a BuddyPress install on the root directory but instead of showing the BP index page, instead show like a coming soon page while I develop the site?

    Thanks

You could modify the home.php file and rip out all the extra code. Home.php will always act as the front page of your website, regardless of your WordPress settings.

You might want to try the Maintenance Mode plugin at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/maintenance-mode/

Editing home.php in wp-content/home does not affect the index page at all…

Is MM plug-in BP compatible? I just downloaded it, so I’ll see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the tips everyone.
