Posting new topic while admin and other problems

  • i am working on a complete redesign and rework of my existing website. Moving forums from SMF to buddypress, so far so good. I am using a custom theme/template that i have gotten to work for the most part.

However, while logged in as admin, when i click to post new topic, create new group, update activity, etc the respective forms are not shown or the button to post new activity is not show. I believe there is a js issue somewhere but where that is i cannot pin point.

    buddypress install is located, http://www.arkansasoutdoorsonline.com/newsite/hunting-forum/
    acvitiy http://www.arkansasoutdoorsonline.com/newsite/activity/

I can see the post new topic and activity buttons while logged in as a regular user however so not sure what i am doing wrong.

I do get a JS error in global.js

Any help or advice to put me in right direction is greatly appreciated

  • as an update, incase others have problems.

I noticed a very old version of jquery getting called, so i installed “Use Google Libraries” to get current version of jquery running, and surprise i can now create new topics while logged in as admin.

Still have the problem of updating activity feed however but not so much worried about that as i might disable that feature anyway.

WordPress comes with a up to date version of jQuery. BuddyPress works with it. Maybe track down where your site is loading an old version of jQuery, and kill it.
