Prevent user login before activation

Hi,
Weird thing is going on.
If a new user registered him/her self, the user is allowed to login before clicking on the activation link the activation email. And when this happens, the user is totally invisible. I cannot see that user in the newest members and anywhere else.
How do I prevent login before the user clicked on activation link in the email?
