Problem initializing WordPress after deactivating Buddypress

    I have set up sub domain on our WordPress site to look like this http://mysite.com/mybuddypress not the usual http://mybuddypress.mysite.com. On the main blog I have the Thesis skin and on the Buddypress site I have used the default skin with tweaked colors. The problem I am facing is that on deactivating Buddypress on the sub domain (BP v1.2.3) WordPress fails to initialize on the main site.

    Any ideas why this is happening?
