Profile pages in 301 redirect loop

Hi,
I have made a copy of my site to copy.example.com (where the main site is still on http://www.example.com) to use as a development copy.
Everything is working correctly except for the BP profile pages (e.g. /members/user/ ), which go into a 301 redirect loop (/members/user/ -> /members/user/ -> /members/user/ etc)
This works fine on my main site, just not on the subdomain copy. My host has confirmed it’s nothing on their side driving the re-direct, and my .htacess just has the standard wordpress code.
Any help appreciated.
