Profile Syncing

    Hello Everyone,

    I am in the process of designing and developing a Web Application that sits on top of BuddyPress. I haven’t been able to find too much information on Profile Syncing aside from the fact that it synchronizes WordPress and BuddyPress profiles. That isn’t too helpful as I gathered that from the text in the Setting itself. What I want to know is, does that mean it syncs the profile with WordPress.com, or WordPress.org? I want my BuddyPress profiles to be standalone. I want the logins, profiles, etc to be unique to my BuddyPress install only. Any information on this feature would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    The sync is only within the installation. No outside data is involved.
    It syncs some fields from the WP users table and the BP xprofile fields table – mainly the name fields.
