Profiles visible only to non-members?

This sounds strange but is it possible to use BuddyPress to create and mange two groups with non-overlapping memberships, each of whose members can only see profiles belong to the other?
So if you’re in group A, you can see group B’s profiles; in group B, you could see group A’s profiles. Each member can edit his/her own profile. I’m wondering whether I can use BuddyPress to connect two groups.
