"Proudly deleted by…"

  • barboncaves

At the bottom of my default Buddypress page there is a ridiculous footer which reads “Proudly powered by WordPress and BuddyPress.”

Is there some way I can get rid of this syophantic nonsense? Or at least change it to read “Proudly got working by Yours Truly after hours of fiddling about”

Seriously, whenever I see this “proudly powered by” stuff I reach for the sick bucket!

You can hide your pride by amending the footer.php file

Though when you contribute something to open source that is used by over 20% of all websites imho it’s a reasonable presumption that many are indeed proud to use the software – hence the insert.

There are obviously some like your good self who would prefer to hide their pride.

Those who are using the software but are not proud to use it, well, they have a problem that will not be solved on this forum.

Cheers for the vote of thanks to all those that plough hours of their time into providing you with free software to use, it’s most generous of you. As to the question learn a little about the software you’re using as you’ll find you won’t need to waste time asking questions on how to remove a simple piece of hardcoded markup.
