Public group does not show up in groups tab

I have 1 group in my installation. All members are automatically added. I went to my Wall and clicked on groups and here is what I get: “Sorry, There Was No Activity Found. Please Try A Different Filter.”
I then clicked on the group tab and get:”There Were No Groups Found.”
But if I click on my profile, then far right I see the group. Click on it and is fine.
Why is it not showing under the groups tab?
