Put pages behind BuddyPress login

I would like to make some pages on my site available only for members who register and login using BuddyPress. Currently, these individual pages are password protected. This is difficult for users because they must remember a password for protected pages, as well as their username and password to get to BuddyPress features. I would prefer not to work in the code. If changes in the code are necessary, will I have to redo the code if our theme changes? It is important that only registered and logged-in users see the contents of the protected pages – would not want this to “break” without my knowing; for example, would not want the contents to suddenly become available by Google search. I am using BuddyPress 3.2.0 and WP 4.9.8. Thanks.

    Hi,

    Please try this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/restrict-content/

    Hopefully this will help you.

    Thanks

@prashantvatsh Thanks. Does the Restrict Content plugin integrate with BuddyPress registration or require a separate registration?

@shanebp Thanks for your tip. Will BP Simple Private plugin allow me to make non-BuddyPress pages private, for example, an existing content page that is not part of BuddyPress?

    Yes.

It works with BuddyPress Registration. It restricts content for non-logged in users so mechanism is simple if not a user and is a guest only then restrict the content.

You can go with shane’s solution because that allows to restrict BuddyPress content and WordPress post type contents as well.

    Thanks
