Random option in Member and Group widgets

Hi,
In the 2 widgets for Members and Groups there’s 3 options to choose from:
Newest, Active and Popular
Id like a 4th option named Random where it picks out a number of random members or random groups.
For the Member widget maybe even 2 options: Random Males and Random Females.
How do I extend these 2 standard widgets with the above random options?
And do any of you think it would be nice to have a random option as standard in BuddyPress?
