recent posts slugs and real post slugs are different

  • @takuya

I have a post with following slug:

    site1.example.com/categoryname/postid

But from recent posts widget and the default buddypress blogs directory, post is linked to:

    site1.example.com/uncategorized/postid

The link works, but I wonder why posts linked from example.com buddypress install shows like that.

I don’t know if it has something to do with my problem here: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1308

It’ seems similar. Do you have the wrong slugs also in the activity feeds?

no, mine doesn’t link to any other articles. The links work, it’s just the permalink structure bug…

Is your problem always or just sometimes?

Howdy people. What exactly is your permalink structure on the blogs that are having problems?

    Example. site1.example.com: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ from Settings > Permalinks

Can I get links to your sites? What version of bp are each of you running?

Root/main blog is using: (buddypress home)

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

    site1.example.com is using:

    /%category%/%post_id%/

    Core: 1.0-RC1 / Messages: 1.0-RC1 / Friends: 1.0-RC1 / Wire: 1.0-RC1 / Blogs: 1.0-RC1 / Profile: 1.0-RC1 / Activity: 1.0-RC1 / Groups: 1.0-RC1 / Forums: 1.0-RC1 /

    Using RC2, WPMU 2.7.1, subdirectories

hmmmm – sorry to bring that up again… the post slugs in the activity feed are showing now sometimes just the actual site url…

I think this mostly occurs with the slugs mentioned above:

Root/main blog is using: (buddypress home)

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

    site1.example.com is using:

    /%category%/%post_id%/

But it could also be, because I am using for some of the posts the Plugin TDOMiniForms (sorry burtadsit for bringing it up again, but I don’t get why the slugs are only in BP-components wrong the the normal WPMU works just fine – everywhere…)

Would be great if someone could help! I just went live on http://www.young-people.ch (see for the bug http://young-people.ch – although it updating the information every minute now)
