Redirect Loop “caused” by Buddypress, yaaaaay!

So, after installing Buddypress (specifically), I receive a redirect loop. You know, that thing that makes it so you can’t access your page, ever.

My thoughts are that this is caused because I did, at one time, have Buddypress installed, then uninstalled it, screwed around with the http:// and http://www. settings of my site on not only the WordPress page, but through my Hosting provider as well, and now I can’t “reinstall” it due to it maintaining the settings of my old install.
    (^ Impressive run-on sentence.)

That said, I don’t know how to completely wipe all traces of Buddypress from my WordPress so I can ‘redo’ it all again.

Keep in mind that I’m not talking Activate/Deactivate. Buddypress won’t let me run through the Installer again, because it had been installed in the past. Or.. something.

Aside from wiping my entire site, I have no idea how to fix this issue.

If you deactivated BuddyPress already and you still have a redirect loop, that means there’s a good chance the loop was not caused by BuddyPress.

If you “screwed around” with the URL settings of your WP site, there is a good chance this caused your bug.

If you can, revert to an old backup of your WP setup (database and filesystem). If you can’t, disable all your plugins and reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

Right. Did the plugin reactivation, and Buddypress “is” the culprit.

I screwed around with the URL settings through the Dreamhost.com admin panel, (there are some options to add/remove the www.) ‘before’ I installed Buddypress. At this time, and after I installed Buddypress, I didn’t have a redirect issue.

Then I changed my Dreamhost settings to accept both Http:// and http://www. as equals (instead of changing whichever it landed on), and then had tried “reinstalling” Buddypress. At that point, the redirect loop was incurred.

I’m really stuck on this one. The only thing I think I could have done is change in GOOGLE’s Webmaster settings how the page is indexed by Google – http://domain.com vs http://www.domain.com. I don’t see how changing Google’s prefs could cause a redirect loop. I’m also not getting why BP could be so sensitive to a change like this after all these years of development. Maybe I’m focusing on the wrong thing? I’ve tried disabling all other plug-ins. It happens when trying to look at http://domain.com/members/<username>/

UGHHH! Can’t find any good info for fixing this! HeLp please!
