Redirect loop for member profile

    @adchix

I keep getting a redirect loop for the member profile on Buddypress. Here’s a link to the site: http://proudconservative.com

I tried switching to the buddypress default theme, deactivating all plugs, deleting buddypress, deleting buddypress tables from the database, and everything else I can think of and it is still happening.

This is the first time I have had this issue with buddypress. I really do not understand why this is happening.

    1. Which version of WordPress are you running? WordPress 3.5.1.
    2. Did you install WordPress as a directory or subdomain install? Directory
    3. If a directory install, is it in root or in a subdirectory? Subdirectory
    4. Did you upgrade from a previous version of WordPress? If so, from which version? No
    5. Was WordPress functioning properly before installing/upgrading BuddyPress (BP)? Yes
    6. Which version of BP are you running? Version 1.6.4
    7. Did you upgraded from a previous version of BP? If so, from which version? No
    8. Do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed and activated? If so, which ones? Yes – Contact Form 7, WooCommerce, Google Adsense. I have also tried with all plugins deactivated and I am still having the same problem.
    9. Are you using the standard BuddyPress themes or customized themes? A customized theme built for buddypress and Woocommerce integration. Tersus. I have also tried using the dafault Buddypress them and the issue persists – no matter what.
    10. Have you modified the core files in any way? No.
    11. Do you have any custom functions in bp-custom.php? No.
    12. If running bbPress, which version? Or did your BuddyPress install come with a copy of bbPress built-in? BBpress installed automatically when I installed the forums. The forums are working fine.
    13. Please provide a list of any errors in your server’s log files.
    14. Which company provides your hosting? 1and1
    15. Is your server running Windows, or if Linux; Apache, nginx or something else? Linux

    hi @adchix,

Do know for answers, but… i have questions 😉

There is a error on the activity page
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘infobartext’ in x/x/x/x/ProudConservative/wp-content/themes/Tersus/lib/adm/inc/meta_config.php on line 29

Check this function and ask about it on the themeforest forum perhaps.

have you set your permalinks, as recommanded, to something other as default path ?
Have you old pages in the trash with identical names as the online pages ? If yes delete them definely ?
Are all pages appering on the BP settings page tab ?
Each BP option you use should have is own page. (xprofile, forums, etc) Is this the case ?

This is not a big deal. It shows until some text is put in its place.

    Yes

Yes. There are no duplicate pages

    Yes.

Yes. I create buddypress sites all the time and have never had this issue before. I’m sure it’s a minor thing somewhere, and I’m just unable to find it. I was having issues with products on this site before and found out the website owner was making his own slugs and using underscores instead of dashes. Once that was repaired, all was fine with products.

It’s frustrating when clients try to “help” while I am working on the site, but some are very hands on, if you know what I mean.

On the other hand, I actually tried a new install and had the same problem. So, I probably just imported the problem.

I will double-check the profile page settings and see if this repairs anything. Thanks for your time and I will let you know.

    De nada !
And yes, i know about what you mean 😀

I noticed that none of your URL end with a slash as it should be usually on BP sites. It’s not the problem but perhaps the visible part of the dark side.

Have you forgot some old/unused custom rules in the htaccess ?
Or a corrupted file in BP core ?

I would suggest to reupload a fresh copy of BP to be sure.
