registration page not working

I’m having a weird problem. The bp registration page isn’t working (domain.tld/register). When I visit wp-signup.php it works fine but when I visit domain.tld/register it doesn’t work. When I enter the details and submit the form I just get the same form with nothing on it. For certain reasons I can’t make the domain name public for certain reasons but I am willing to pm the anyone who can help.

I’ve been doing some testing and I noticed that I can’t access the $_POST global variable anywhere within BuddyPress. Any idea why?

It was caused by the following line in .htaccess

ErrorDocument 404 /index.php

First, we need some basic information:

1. What version of WPMU and BuddyPress are you running?
