Request Membership Tab

Hello,
On my website, we don’t want anyone being able to request membership to a group.
I found a way to hide one of the request membership buttons using CSS.. but I cannot get the “Request Membership” tab to go away. People only see it when they are logged into the website. If I try to hide it using CSS it hides all of my tabs which isn’t ok.
Any suggestions? I have came across a few things to try while browsing for help online but some of them are SUPER old so I don’t think they work anymore.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
