[Resolved] BuddyPress + bbPress – Something is working wrong

    Hello,

    I have bbpress and buddypress installed in my site. I have “user groups” turned off in buddypress and “enable group forums” turned off too in bbpress.

    Despite this I still have a Forums link (which belongs to group furum) in my user activity page menu (not the site-wide activity page), this page is showing links to my activity, my profile, my messages, my friends, my forums and my configuration.

    Why is the forums link showing in this menu if I have group and group forums disabled? It should not exist.

    Besides this, this Forums link is linking to a wrong url, it is linking to luchotv.com/forums and the group forums page I have set for this is luchotv.com/foro-grupos in the buddypress pages configuration.

    In fact this page (http://www.luchotv.com/foro-grupos/) shows the group forums info and I think it shouldn’t even exist.

    Please tell me how can I fix this problem?

    Thank you,
    Luciano

    @lucianoippolito
    1. You need to turn off “Discussion Groups” in Settings > BuddyPress > Components if you only want Sitewide Forums (bbPress plugin) https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/#c-set-up-sitewide-forums-only
    2. For good measure, delete “foro grupos” page in Pages > All Pages and delete it permanently
    3. Delete bb-config.php file generated at root of your installation

    @mercime,

    Thanks a lot, problem solved. Now I have another one and I think is related to the previous issue.

    In my profile page (http://www.luchotv.com/miembros/Luciano/profile/) it says “Base Name” with just my name as information, it looks like a group even though groups were disabled.

    Then, if I choose to edit my profile then I fall into this other page http://www.luchotv.com/miembros/Luciano/profile/edit/group/1/ which looks like my profile (with all my info) but the URL belongs to a group.

    Any idea on how can I fix this?

    Thanks a lot for your time. Regards,
    Luciano

    No, this is not part of a Group/Group Forums at all. /Luciano/profile/edit/group/1/ refers to the first group of Profile Fields. As you can create more profile fields based on your community, you can also create more than one group of Profile Fields to organize profile information – https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/#users-profile-fields
    – Note that all the fields you add in the first group of Profile Fields will also show up in the Registration Form if you have that enabled. Those in the 2nd group or so will only show up in e.g. /Luciano/profile/edit/group/2/ and /Luciano/profile/edit/group/3/ if you have more than one or two groups of Profile Fields.
