[Resolved] Call to undefined function show_admin_bar()

    Hi.

I’ve a problem after activating the buddypress plugin.
After the activation neither the blog nor the login page are available.
The apache error log tells me:

[error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function show_admin_bar() in /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-buddybar.php on line 585

I tested it on two diffrent machines and in both cases i received the same error. Both are running wordpress 3.0.5, buddypress 1.5.4, PHP5.3.6-13ubuntu3.6 and apache 2.2.20 on an Ubuntu 11.10.

After looking the error up I found this ticket: http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3018
Although it’s the same error message it was triggered from by another php file.

Of course moving the buddypress folder let’s me access wordpress again.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Edit:
From the looks of it, it seems that the wordpress installation from the Ubuntu repository is faulty. Simply downloading the wordpress archive and following the installation guide fixed the issue for me.

  • Cool. The issue was is that BuddyPress 1.5.4 requires WordPress 3.3 or newer, and you were trying to run it on WordPress 3.0.5 :)
