[Resolved] Change default tab on user pages?

So this is the scenario i’m trying to create:

1- search for a members name via the members directory page
2- see search results ie. list of names
3- click the name and go straight to their ‘profile’ tab instead of their ‘activity’ tab

Any ideas? Is there some function I can change ie. in the php or something that changes the default tab on user pages?

1. Create a bp-custom.php file https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/bp-custom-php/

2. Change the default tab opened when looking at a user’s profile (default is activity), insert the following :
`define( ‘BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT’, ‘profile’ ); `

Great!! that worked perfectly except I put the code in wp-config.php . Is that going to bite me in the ass later???
