I’ve been working on this since yesterday and I think I’m a little closer and I’m 92% certain it’s not buddypress’s fault but I was hoping that someone here might have had a similar problem and may be able to help me.

I installed it then tried to register with an alternative email. When I went to go check for the validation email, there wasn’t one. After a bit of looking around I saw that it was probably because I didn’t have an email setup so I installed the WP-Mail-SMTP plugin, after a bit of fiddling around I finally got it to accept my smtp settings, but then I get

I know that this isn’t buddypress’ fault but I’m just not sure what to do. My hosting is inmotionhosting.com, I set up an account in thunderbird that can send and receive email, but for some reason it seems that I can get this plugin to send my message, which I’m hoping to be the solution to sending activation emails. If I need to give more information please let me know. If you have an obvious fix or idea you think I’m overlooking please tell me. Buddypress looks amazing and it would be perfect for my site.
