[Resolved] Removing users ability to write posts

Hi there :) New to the forum, and spent the past week getting my hands dirty in BuddyPress, love it!

I’m using the latest version of WordPress and BuddyPress.

I’m looking to remove the function that allows users to write blog posts. I’m using the system to allow users to register, connect with each other, add groups and events (using Events Manager plugin) but the blog is exclusively for posting event reports, photography and video by the administrator and staff only.

    Any help much appreciated!

General users don’t have the ability to create posts, they are by default registered as ‘subscribers’ a role that can only comment on not create – have you changed anything in the established role a user gets?

Ahh you are absolutely right – it’s cos I set up the Events manager and played around with it. Fixed now, thanks :)
