Hello,..
How can I enable “Restrict group creation to Site Admins?” ?
I think this is my problem I can’t find this option. Dashboard > Setting > Buddypress > Setting tab http://content.screencast.com/users/decs2/folders/Jing/media/d3023706-7c62-4bb9-9db9-f2598026d4a5/2012-09-04_1427.png
I want to enable “Restrict group creation to Site Admins?” because the plugin won’t work unless it is enable. See screen capture

App sumo currently has a offer on for the wpmu dev members plugin $9, this does that, even lets you restrict how many groups a person can create aswell as other awesome stuff
@mercime hi,..
When I uncheck the uncheck “Enable group creation for all users.” it will say that
“sorry you are not allowed to create groups.” What should I do next?

It’s either a theme conflict or more likely a plugin conflict (a membership plugin probably) because restricting group creation to admins only is working in all default installations using bp-default theme and updated plugins.
Yes it work with the admins but for other user account type the plugin didn’t allow them to create a group. Is it a theme conflict or plugin conflict?
== Yes it work with the admins but for other user account type the plugin didn’t allow them to create a group. ==
For group creation In BuddyPress at this time, it’s either Admin or “others” – the users/members – that’s it. So there’s no conflict when only the Admin can create groups if you uncheck “Enable group creation for all users.”
Therefore their is no way to restrict users from creating limited number of groups? thanks @mercime
