Roadmap 1.2 / some features are not that urgent

Just my opinion, but I would say that the following features are not really “critical” or “important”. I think the following features are just “nice” things, but not really “urgent” to be developed:

    – Inappropriate content flagging

    – Bulk accept/reject friendship requests

I would suggest better focus and spend your valuable time onto features like:

    – “Privacy Plugin”

    – “A quick blog post form via the theme”

I would call ‘Inappropriate content flagging’ totally essential, and am thrilled that it’s going to be in. I wasn’t even aware that is was coming, so that’s a win for me!

I agree with stwc, that is a completely valuable feature. I don’t know what your problem is here, the privacy and the blog post via theme are coming anyways.

This isn’t a support question so I’ve marked the thread as such.

    and a quick blog post: http://dev.benoitgreant.be/2009/11/24/buddypress-quickpress/ … working perfect…

no need to require something important when it is already created.

Once there was a poll for all of us to vote for what we want by what release. Erich73, maybe you missed it. Roadmap is based on this community’s feedback. FYI.

i think Erich just want to push the release to be faster by dropping big features…lol

I do not want to push anyone or anything.

Sorry, it was just my suggestion.

It looks like I have been wrong with it…….

@ nexia: Thanks for that plugin, definately makes it easier to keep the users of the admin panel.

@ Erich: Flagging users is probably most important, since you can never always catch all bad users, so your users can catch those which you missed. Eventually your users can even take the job over from you.

In my point of view. Both features are very importend.

    – Inappropriate content flagging

    – “Privacy Plugin”

Of course, all those features are definitely important.

I actually just wanted to talk about “priority-settings” (in regards to timeline) of different features.

Sorry if I have missed the point.

The privacy plugin is being done by Jeff Sayre, it is a plugin not a core feature. So it’s not even in the buddypress timeline.

And since nexia already gave a nice example on how to resolve your other feature, this topic can be closed?

xevo, actually basic privacy control is being planned for version 1.2 as a core feature. it might be jeffs plugin or it might be something different, but it most definately is within the bp timeline. As it should.

the same for the quick blog post actually.
