Scheduled Posts

I need scheduled posts and a deadman’s switch on posts…

    1. I need users/members to be able to set a date for the posts, if they be video, photo or status update, to be posted at a future date.

    2. I need a similar system to scheduled posts that releases posts if the user/member doesn’t perform an action like answer and email and click a link. If the user does nothing, the posts get made.

Any ideas? anyone want to take it on?

    1) The default WordPress Role for all BuddyPress members is the Suscriber role. In order to allow any/some members to go to the backend to create a blog post, you need to navigate to the wp-admin menu Users > All Members and change the role of the member/s from Suscriber to either: :
    – “Contributor” – cannot publish, can only submit a post for review. The Editor or Administrator can schedule the post at future date and the post automatically gets published at the scheduled date.
    – “Author” – can set the publish date to future date and the post gets published at the scheduled date.

    2) Not sure why you need a system as the post does get published at a future date set in the “Publish” attribute within the “Publish” box in the panel.

    1. I wasn’t wanting them to necessarily go to the backside. I was wanting the scheduled post drop down like is in the real post editor to be on the BuddyBlog editor on the front side.

    2. this is exactly what the front side blog editor is missing.

    3. I want the dead man’s switch on all user content. like their whole profile and media. so they could set a date after which it would turn on and be visible if they did nothing.

Ok, you didn’t mention in your original post that you were already using BuddyBlog which is an entirely a different matter 🙂 Please post at @sbrajesh’s site at BuddyDev.com and check if that’s something he would like to add in his free/premium version.

Sorry I didn’t mention it. But I was also wanting this on more features than just his plugin. I did mention it to him in his blog post about BuddyBlog and he was very quick to answer.

    “Hi Kristoff,
though there is no way at the moment to have scheduled post(by time), but with slight code, It can be forced to allow users to post to single category. Please let me know if you need that code.”

I was hoping that someone here might have a solution or ideas.

hi again @buddypresslost i remember seeing a plugin that states it can do this or something similar on codecanyon a while back so ive gone and checked back there for you, im not 100 percent sure if it can do what your after but its only 14 dollars to buy this is the link.

Like i said im unsure and i havent read to much into it, maybe you could message the plugin author and ask him if it could be customized for your needs?

Hmm then again after reading more im not sure if its also only backend, maybee you could ask for integration though for what you need, might be worth a try i dunno?
