Search Activity/ Groups

    Running WordPress 4.1, Buddypress 2.1.1.

The activity stream (example.com/activity) for a user consists of posts/ stuff he is authorized to see (so updates from his friends, updates in groups where he is a member, etc.)

Is there a way to search this activity? Ideally, it could be one of the filters (Show: Everything, etc. one item is search). So, once that is selected, it accepts a search term.

The same thing can be used to search groups.

If not that, at leat a page where a search box is provided to search the activity stream?

    How can this be done?

@style960 there are two problems with that plugin. One, it does not integrate with the filter drop-down box and two, it does not search contents of private groups.

Not searching in private groups is a more severe drawback.

Any suggestions on rectifying the problem? Any other solution?

I am having the same issue. The regular WordPress search box will not display any content from my Groups page. I think it is hilarious that when I go to create a group, under settings the public and private options say that group content will show up in search results. I have tried relevanssi and that didn’t help.

I wanted to see if anybody else has a solution to this. The https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-global-search/ plugin is great, but it takes over the entire search function, including wordpress. I was hoping for a plugin that only searches buddy press activity feeds, and separately for each group. Thanks…
