Hope it’s OK for me to bump. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution? Even a non-WP (google?) solution that integrates with the 2014 theme would be fine…
This will be the case with all themes. BuddyPress content is not included in the default WordPress search. It is a common request for people to ask for a “unified” BuddyPress search but that does not exist out of the box at this moment in time.

I tried to implement the code in my bounce theme, currently using WordPress version 3.9 and BuddyPress version 2.0 but no luck.

No luck – I went to Swiftype search for the time being, but it doesn’t integrate with BP. Contacted them as it appears on their site that they will support BP at some future date, but the response was not encouraging. I need to dig into this at some point soon, but not looking forward to it…
