On http://www.w3schools.com/ the search bar works by getting Google to only search the W3Schools website (e.g. php tutorial site:www.w3schools.com). I wanted the search box on my website to work like that, so I looked at the code for the W3Schools search bar using Firebug and tried to copy that on my website, but that only caused me to be taken to the Google homepage when I attempted a search from my website.
Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
My website is http://words2us.com/ and uses a child theme of the BuddyPress Default theme. It’s also worth mentioning that I have a plugin called BuddyPress Global Unified search ( http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-global-unified-search/ ), which basically gets rid of the members/posts drop-down box by the search bar and allows you to search through both in one go.
