At the top of the home page, there are no link buttons to the other pages. How can I fix this??

Go to dashboard menu Appearance > Menus and add your links.

Thank you! But where is the primary navigation located? Because after I created my menu I only see the custom admin bar navigation section

That’s exactly where it is, the navigation drop down.

oh ok. Sorry, just one last thing- Before I realized this, I put the links as a widget in the sidebar. However, the menu appears on the right sidebar on google chrome, but in the footer area in internet explorer. Is there a reason this is happening and how do I fix it?

Status theme is for IE 9 above https://github.com/buddypress-themers/status/blob/master/readme.txt

To fix it for IE8, you need to use Firebug, the Firefox add-on, to identify the HTML tag which you would need to style. Last time I looked, this would involve adding specific width to the element. which was floated left.
