Still Confused About Themes (Default Blog Theme)

  • Hi All,

I’m still confused about how the various themes work. I know that the BuddyPress Home theme is what I want users to see when they get to my site, as it creates that social network/portal look. And I know that the BuddyPress member theme is necessary so my users can get that same look when they login to the network/portal.

But I don’t want a BuddyPress theme to be used for blogs that users create. I want a more traditional blog-oriented theme to be used. But I don’t know how to set this.

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

    Mark

  • Okay, figured it out. The instructions in the group download don’t spell it out, but the separate instructions for the theme do.

The home theme is just a WordPress theme, (with a couple of new template files if you want to use the directories).

Member themes are used for all pages that are not blog related.
