(subdomain) blog pages show “server not found” errors

I am using WPMU 2.7.1 and Buddy Press 1.0-RC1. The installation is at http://wondergirls.com.

    Members’ profile URLs are: http://wondergirls.com/members/username

    Blog URLs are: http://username.wondergirls.com/

However, any of those blog URLs produce a “Server not found” error. Have I misconfigured the installation? Is there something that I can do with .htaccess URL rewrites or the wp-config file to fix this?

I did search for this topic and didn’t find anything; apologies if I missed an appropriate thread.

    Thanks,

This is an issue with your hosting provider. Contact them and ask them to set wildcard DNS for your account. This is required for WPMU using sub-domains. If they can’t or won’t, you’ll need to consider re-installing WPMU and using sub-directories (not preferred).

I assume you mean BuddyPress 1.0, the public release version. If you truly are using 1.0-RC1, then I’d advise you to upgrade to the public release version when you get WPMU functioning properly.

If you are upgrading from RC1, use these instructions.
