“The link you followed has expired.” -profile field

after updating to latest version of buddypress, i see this: “The link you followed has expired.” – when i try to create up to 1000 drop down select boxes, then i cant update again.. just keeps saying: “The link you followed has expired.” anytime i try to update profile field
