The right directory is "mu-plugins" or simple "plugins"?

Hi, a very dumb question, sorry…

I don’t understand if I do install buddypress in the “plugins” directory or in the “mu-plugins”.

    Thank you! :)

    ciao,

    A.

A readme is called a readme for a reason..

Some previous versions of BP went into /mu-plugins/, and there’s a lot of outdated tutorials on the internet which people may try to use still, so it’s not a stupid question.

…and since we’re all “buddies” here, there’s not a whole lot of room for criticizing others.

I’m just as guilty of not reading instructions as anyone else is, so I get how it’s confusing at first.

I’m sorry for the “readme”; but when the english is a foreign language all become more complicated and sometimes to read a simple readme can be difficult, and maybe a doubt stay in the mind still after reading…

so the same for the many many tutorials on the net, I don’t know never if there was “à la page” or not etc. etc. (I guess it’s about this the DJPaul post…!).

So, I thougt “we are buddies!! (John, it’s true!) and I asked my stupid, or not so stupid, question!

Peace and love, my buddy’s friends!

thank you so much for your helpful answers! :)

    and sorry for my english!

    ciao :-)
