The search procedure is not stripping leading and trailing spaces before calling

When I search for various members I use the suggested spelling from my phone. The suggested spellings leave a space at the end of the name/word.
The search procedure is not stripping leading and trailing spaces before calling the query. Result set returns empty.
Is this something that can be fixed in a future update?
