There was an error cropping your profile image

    I’ve been having a problem getting the profile image and cover image to work. When I attempt to crop the image, it give me the “there was an error cropping your profile image” error and doesn’t post.

    The site is hosted on a dedicated server.

    I have deactivated all plugins except Buddypress and activated the 2015 theme, and it still gives the same error.

    PHP version: 5.6
    Buddypress version: 2.4.3
    Wordpress version: 4.4.1

    The file I’m trying to uplaod and use is 9.7kb, titled X.png, and 300px by 375px

    Any help or advice would be appreciated/

    What about default WordPress cropping? Does it work? Maybe the problem is in the access permissions to /uploads directory.

    Other possible issue – do you have PHP image manipulation modules installed and activated?
