Timestamp permlinks change after being clicked

Have a bug where the permalink in post timestamps is being rewritten to include the active logged in user’s name slug. The rewrite happens after the timestamp has been clicked and the opened page has begun to load. This causes the update link to load a page with no content instead of a page with the update in the content area of the theme.

For example, if an update’s timestamp (or notification) links to

    http://example.com/activity/p/8838/

after being clicked, the link changes to

    http://example.com/members/username/activity/8837/

This bug happens in 1.7 and happened in 1.6.x too. Thought the update to 1.7 might fix it.

I’ve tried resetting the permalinks and disabling plugins.

Any ideas what might be causing it or how I might fix it?
