Trouble at installation

  • Marc R.

Hi, I installed wordpress without problems. Then when I tryed to install buddypress automatically, it was stuck at “downloading [filename] for installation”.

So I placed the buddypress folder (from the zip file) into the plugins folder.

When I go into my admin account, I can now see buddy press. but when I click on Activate, it says :

Error 500 – Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
    Please try again later.

So did I miss something here? I have a 1and1 basic server so it should have everything I need to set up this kind of site right?

    Thanks for your help

    Hey again.

Browsing the forums here, I saw this problem happened lots of time, but it seemed people didnt resolve it.

Well I did by creating a .htaccess file in my root with this code in it:

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
    AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

You can add a RESOLVED to it :)
